Meet the Teams Walking Haiti's Back Roads

Resounding Hope Team · April 10, 2026

Long before a radio reaches a family's hands, someone has to walk there. No highway, often no marked path — just a team of Haitian staff and visiting missionaries carrying a bag of radios and a willingness to knock on a door with no idea what's on the other side.

A Ministry Fielded in Partnership

Resounding Hope's outreach teams are fielded through a partnership with One Mission Society (OMS), pairing Haitian staff who know the terrain, the language, and the culture with short-term missionaries who come alongside them. Together, they've made 91,650 Gospel presentations across northern Haiti — each one a real conversation, not a mass distribution.

A gift of $3,000 funds a full day of this work: a team of Haitian and visiting missionaries reaching 50 families in a single outreach day, sharing the Gospel door to door and leaving a solar radio with each family they meet.

Led From Both Sides of the Mission

Storly Michel, Director of Radio-Télé 4VEH, leads the station's French- and Creole-language broadcast ministry from Cap-Haïtien — the backbone that keeps 4VEH's signal reaching five northern departments every day. Kate Michel, 4VEH's Fundraising & Communications Director and the founder of Resounding Hope, leads the English-language and international side of the ministry, connecting donors around the world to the families her teams meet on Haiti's back roads.

Together, their teams carry one mission forward from two directions: a station broadcasting hope over the air, and teams delivering it in person, radio in hand.

What a Visit Actually Looks Like

There's no script. A team arrives in a community, and conversations happen the way conversations do — sometimes over a shared meal, sometimes on a porch, sometimes in the middle of a dirt road. The Gospel is shared plainly. Whether or not a family responds that day, a radio stays behind, tuned permanently to 4VEH — so that whatever wasn't decided in that first conversation can keep being heard, every day, long after the team has moved on.
